Lukas Wilson This album's ambience is simply astounding. Truly minimalistic and doomy, the drawn out melodies shift and meander, creating a melancholy texture that persists throughout the entire album. Akathist lets their songs build in a very organic way until they've reached the peak of their intensity, which is interestingly subdued but no less potent. This music is about long and purposeful swells, not explosions, and Akathist has proven their excellency at doing just that. Fantastic Album. Favorite track: Creaking Earth.
